Instantly be aware of EMV related field issues

During an EMV transaction, merchants and clients may experience some issues. These issues might be related to the POS hardware, POS software, EMV configuration parameters, or EMV card. Sometimes this might result in transaction declines and sometimes bad user experiences. Cloud EMV kernel offers monitoring and reporting services to instantly be aware of field issues.

No memory limitation for transactions

Traditional EMV L2 kernels run in a secure processor on the payment device. These kernels provide limited information about EMV transactions to the POS application because they have limited memory capacity, and they were not developed considering reporting and troubleshooting. And even though EMV kernel provides some information, POS applications need to have access to a cloud service to send this information for troubleshooting and reporting. With cloud EMV kernel, all transaction data is managed in the cloud without any memory limitation.

Advanced data elements for troubleshooting and reporting

The cloud EMV kernel solution keeps all the EMV data on the cloud, not in the hardware. The solution provides detailed information about EMV transactions for reporting/troubleshooting. EMV specifications have data elements such as TVR and CVR. However, they don’t give all info needed. For example, if offline authentication fails in a transaction, these data elements inform that it has failed but doesn’t indicate the reason for it. Cloud EMV kernel solution maintains advanced data elements for troubleshooting and reporting, far beyond the EMV specifications.
